How To Take Your Stuffed Animal On Road Trips
Whether long or short, in state or out of state, your animal needs to be happy and safe when going on a road-trips. Here are a few simple steps that can keep you and your stuffed animals happy, healthy and safe.
Step One: Preperation
Before taking your stuffed animal on long road trips, take him/her on smaller ones (like to Wal-Mart) so he/she can get used to the feel of the car. It will also be less frightening, especially if this is his/her's first time going in the car.
Step Two: Comfort
When taking your animal on these trips, comfort and talk to him/her. You will need to do this to make sure he/she does not get to afraid. Gently reassure our animal that everything is going to be alright. You can even cuddle with your bear when the car has stopped. Make sure they understand they are safe.
Step Three: Bring Travel Clothes
Some animals like to have certain clothes set out for traveling. You might want to do this to encourage your animals into traveling to wear that item. Make sure the item is comfortable before you select it.
Step Four: Packing Well
Whatever you need, your stuffed animal will need as well. If this is a short trip, bring water or maybe a small snack. If it is a long, overnight trip, bring everything you would normally pack for your animal. (Clothes, food, water, entertainment)
Step Five: Ask
Ask your stuffed animal if they want to come and if they are ready If not, help him/her get ready. If they do not want to come, they can always come later.
Step Six: Rest And Relaxation
When traveling, sit your stuffed animal on your lap and try to get them to relax. Tell them to sleep so that they will have energy to do what needs to be done when they get to the destination.
Step Seven: Arrival
When you arrive at your destination, show your animal around and make sure he/she is comfortable with the enviroment, especially if it is crowded, or there are lots of noises. Then, ENJOY!
