Names are an important part of your stuffed animal. Every name gives personality to him/her. Sometimes it is hard to name your stuffed animal. Here are some steps that might help you pick the right name for your stuffed animal.
Step One: Think Of Things You Like
You can name your stuffed animal after things you like, or things your animal likes. For example, if you have a stuffed monkey and he really likes peanuts, you could name him Peanut. Or if you really liked the color red you could name your stuffed animal something like Fire or Blush.
Step Two: Think Of Human Names
Your stuffed animal's name could very much be a human name. Try thinking of names that you like. If you still can't think of a name, try looking on baby name websites. You could be surprised on the possibilities!
Step Three: Think Of Foreign Languages
For a exotic sounding name, try naming your stuffed animal a word in a different language. For example, if you had a cat stuffed animal, you could name it Neko, because that is cat in Japanese. If you cannot speak another language, use Google Translator to translate words to languages from all around the world.
Step Four: Think Of Famous People Or Places
You could very much name your stuffed animal after a famous person or place. To do this, close your eyes and think of a famous person you like or admire. Or, think of a famous place you would like to visit or have visited and really enjoyed. For example, you could name you stuffed cat Katy, after Katy Perry. Or you could name your stuffed dolphin Niagara, after Niagara Falls. The possibilities are endless!
Step Five: Think Of Characteristics
Sometimes, just looking at your stuffed animal gives it a name in it's head. The green color of it's eyes, or the texture of it's fur could determine what you name it. For example, if your stuffed dragon has extremely green eyes you could name her Jade or Emerald. Or, if you teddy bear is extremely plush you could name her Fluffy.
Step Six: Think Of Movies
Naming your stuffed animal after characters in your favorite movie is a good idea as well. For example, if I really liked the movie Tangled, then I could name my stuffed animal Rapunzel.
Step Seven: Don't Think!
Sometimes if you think to hard your brain will not give you the answer you are looking for. Instead of focusing to hard, try taking a break. Eventually a name will come to you.
