Caring For Sick Stuffed Animals
It's not fun being sick. You feel horrible and weak. This is why it is extremely important for you to care for your stuffed animal well when he/she is sick. That way he/she will recover soon and feel better faster. Here are a few simple tips that will teach you how to take care of your sick stuffed animal.
Step One: Prepare Your Supplies
Make sure you have all the supplies you need to care for your stuffed animal. You do not want to leave it alone to get more so it is better to have it all planned out. Here are some basic supplies needed:
- Blanket, pretend medicine, comfy area for bear, entertainment, food, drink, tissues, water, brush.
- Optional: bed, slippers, pajamas, cloth, towels etc.
- Thermometer and medicine
Step Two: Entertain Your Bear
Being sick is worse enough, but being bored while you are sick is another matter entirely! Make sure your stuffed animal is not bored by giving them something to play with, or by letting them watch TV. You might want to read to them or sing them some songs. Be careful not to play anything to rough because he/she is still sick!
Step Three: Feeding
When your stuffed animal is sick, it might not feel like eating. But it is important to give your animal some food throughout the day to keep his/her's strength up so he/she can recover faster.
Step Four: Hanging Out
When your bear is sick, don't leave it alone! Make sure it is not lonely by spending time with it all through the day. You can watch TV together, or play a board game. Just be sure that your stuffed animal can handle the activity, because they are still sick. Be careful not to take your stuffed animal places were he/she could get more sick.
Step Five: Home Alone
Don't take your stuffed animal out and about when they are sick because they could catch more germs! If you have to leave your bear home alone, make sure he/she has something to entertain him/her. Also leave out some food and water, just in case your bear feels hungry. Don't be gone to long! Make sure to tell your bear where you are going and about how long you will be gone so he/she does not get scared when they are alone.
Step Six: Blowing Noses
Whenever your stuffed animal is sick, there is always a possibility that he/she will get a runny-nose. You will need to blow your stuffed animal's nose for them because they cannot blow it themselves. Be gentle and kind because stuffed animal noses are very sensitive. Ty not to irritate the nose.
Step Seven: Medicine
Give your bear some medicine. You can purchase medicine for your bear, or make it yourself if you know how. Make sure to give your bear the right amount of medicine so that it will work correctly.
Step Eight: Clearing Germs
After a lot of sneezing and being sick, your bear may begin to collect germs, which can make him/her even more sick. To clean off these germs, simply take a small towel or washcloth and soak it in warm water. Wring the cloth out, and gently pat your bear with it. Once your bear is washed down, you can blow-dry them, or let them air dry.
Step Nine: Treats
When your stuffed animal is sick, give it a few treats or toys to make it feel happy. Don't give it to many treats though, or it's stomach may get upset!
Step Ten: Precautions
If you have other stuffed animals, advise them to stay away and be careful until your sick stuffed animal is well so they do not get sick as well. No one wants to be sick!
